15 Month Well Baby

Stats: Height 33 1/2 inches (95th percentile), Weight 26.2 lbs (50th percentile)
Favorites:
-Food: Turkey franks, ham, grilled cheese, pineapple, goldfish crackers, milk
-Activities: Reading books, playing with his farm, legos, ball - throwing & kicking
Lucas is talking more & more these days. Lots of gibberish, with real words thrown in. He is learning his animal sounds and can currently tell you what a chicken, dog, cat, cow and sheep say. He is close on duck and pig. He understands most simple commands and is usually compliant. :0) We are working on identifying body parts and he does pretty well with most of them. He is generally a very good natured little boy. He definitely knows what he wants and will give us a little grief if he doesn't get it. Usually tantrums only occur when he is tired. He has 12 teeth, the top molars have popped through in the past two days.
The doctor said he is doing well and sees no problems. A very healthy boy. He received another DTaP immunization as well as a flu shot today.
We were able to see a lot of family and friends over the holidays, but for those we missed, I hope this gives you an idea of what our little man is up to!

Christmas here, there and every where!

In no particular order, because I am lazy and don't want to rearrange all the photos, here are pics from Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the day after. Some are in Mishawaka and others in Peru.

Lucas LOVED all the presents. He would open a gift, then have us immediately take it out of the box so he could play with it before moving on to the next one.

Lucas with Aunt Janice and Uncle Jeremy. Boy, he had so much fun with them!

Lucas with cousins Riley & Caroline. It is pretty impossible to get a good picture with a 15 month old, a 4 year old and a 5 month old!

Can I help you?

almost got it...

Aunt Janice and Uncle Jeremy got me some awesome Duplo sets. I love Legos!!

Trying to figure out his new remote control dump truck

Pacey even enjoyed his present!

Still opening...

Wonder what's in here...

I wanna be a rock star!

Here are a few pics of Lucas teaching Daddy how to play guitar hero. My old coworker has already given Lucas his rocker name "Luke Richie."

Lucas' Baptism

This morning we headed to Peru, IN for Lucas' baptism. It was freezing cold, -2, not factoring in wind chill! Freezing! We left at 7am for the 9:30am service. I woke Lucas at 6:30am hoping he would fall asleep during the drive. Well, he didn't! We survived the service with the help of books, goldfish crackers and his paci. He did pretty well with the baptism, just fussed a little before the water was put on his head. We tried to get some pics, but he was so sleepy he didn't want to be held. He only wanted to climb on the stairs and run around. We did the best we could. My brother also took some pics, so I may add more after viewing them. Here is what we have so far...

Children's Party at the Elks Lodge

My parents belong to the Elks Lodge. They had a fun childrens Christmas party this morning. Lucas had an awesome time. He was a trooper, too. We were there from 10:45am-1:45pm with no nap! The party started with a great puppet show. The puppets sang lots of Christmas songs. Lucas sat in my lap for the entire 45 minute show, just watching and clapping. I would have never imagined a 15 month old could have such an attention span! I don't have any pictures of this, but my Aunt does. Next was lunch, then dancing, then Santa and presents! This was Lucas' second time meeting Santa and he is still not a fan! He was fine if I sat on Santas lap with him, but not alone!

Gettin' his groove on...

Face painting. He was so still, probably b/c he was exhausted!

Like my snowflake?

Lucas loves Christmas "drees", can't get that "T" sound yet!

"I love me some presents!"

"Ugh! Not this guy, again!!"

All dressed up with no place to go...

Friday night my parents were getting ready for my Dads company Christmas party. Since they were all dressed up and lookin' spiffy, I thought it would be a good photo opp. Lucas was eating dinner and messy, but I grabbed a paper towel and a sweater and got him "dressed" up, too!

Happy 15 Months!!

Happy 15 months, little boy! Lucas celebrated by playing some XBOX with Daddy before going to bed. He is all about anything with buttons these days.

Push this one, Dad

Let me get comfortable!
I am so good at this!

Holy Molars!!

Finally! Lucas' two bottom molars began cutting through. One yesterday and one today. Poor guy! He is doing well, but has required a dose of Motrin to ease the pain and swelling.

Here is a picture of him "undecorating" the Christmas tree this morning. Lil' stinker!

The next David Beckham?

Much to our delight, Lucas starting kicking a ball a week or two ago. He has some mad soccer skills, don't ya think? I just hope he doesn't grow up to marry a Spice Girl or one of their offspring!

Is it "nigh-nigh," yet?

Usually, blanket and paci are reserved for bedtime and nap only. When we go into Lucas' room to get him when he wakes up, he is sure to take his paci out and leave it with his blanket in the crib. Because I had to wake him up from his nap today and take him to my Grandma's so she could watch him while I got my hair cut, paci and blankie got to go along. We had a super busy day with both naps interrupted. This was the scene before dinner. Lucas was so sleepy he just toted his blanket around and wanted his paci. He is comfortably snoozing as I type. Such a sweet boy!

BaTh TuB fUn!

Lucas had a great time in the bath tub tonight. He had so much to talk to me about, as seen in the first video. He also learned to put his face in the water. I think he was trying to get a drink. As you can see he got a little too excited and inhaled a mouthful...he was fine a few seconds later.
