How do you know when it is naptime?

When your toddler goes into his room, pulls his "boppy" and blanket through the slates of his crib and lays down on the pillows on the family room floor.

Our "Big" Boy

We have been in Peru the past couple of days. Brian's Grandma Betty passed away on Friday. She will be missed by all her family who her loved her so much. Here are a few pics from earlier today. Doesn't Lucas look like such a little boy? What happened to my baby?

Lucas enjoyed playing in the mini-fridge at the hotel.

The problem with going outside...

...is getting Lucas back inside. Anyone else have this problem?

MOPS Easter Party

My MOPS table got together today for an Easter play date and egg hunt. The kids had so much fun "hunting" for the eggs. I love that Lucas is now old enough to participate in activities like this. So much fun!

Just a quick post to let you know I have added two blogs to my sidebar under "Mom Stuff." The Meanest Mom and Big Mama. These are both hysterical daily reads of mine. You'll enjoy them, especially of you are a mom. Happy reading!

St. Patty's Day, Continued...

I just got my hands on a couple more pics from our St Patty's Day play date. This is Lucas with his buddy Evan. Evan is just a few weeks older then Lucas and his Mommy and I are the social chairs for our local Mothers & More chapter. The boys were just too cute in their "kiss me..." shirts!

My First Sonic Cherry Slush

Lucas enjoyed dinner and show tonight. We went through the Sonic drive-thru to get dinner. Lucas drank his first Cherry Slush and on the way home we were stopped by a train. We were the first in line, so he saw the whole train from beginning to end. He was very impressed.

Bye-Bye House

Friday we closed on our house. We Drove down to Bloomington Thursday morning. It was great to be back in Bloomington. I was able to take Lucas to my two old offices and catch up with my old nursing crew and staff. We wanted to walk around campus and take some pics, but there just wasn't enough time and the weather was a little to cool. I guess we have a reason to go back again soon!

We had to stop by the house and say "good-bye!" Lucas had so much fun just running around an empty house. His favorite activity was to go into the bathroom and say "bye-bye," close the door, then come back out and give each of us a hug. He did this for a good 15 minutes! Crazy kid!

Happy Birthday, Uncle Jimmy!!!

March is a big birthday month! Uncle Jimmy's birthday is actually tomorrow, March 19th. We will be on our way to Bloomington, so I am posting early. We hope Uncle Jimmy has a very Happy Birthday and gets spoiled with lots of cake and presents. Enjoy your day!

A Wednesday Walk in the Woods

The weather was not nearly as nice today as it was yesterday. We still got outside for a walk and a wagon ride though.

This way, Papa!

Pelicans live in the woods, right?

Pine cone, anyone?

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Our little Leprechaun had a very busy St Patty's Day. We spent the morning and early afternoon at a friends house playing outside. There were about 8 kids there. Lucas had so much fun running around outside. His favorite! He fell asleep on the drive home and took a great nap. When he woke up we went for a walk around the neighborhood. The weather was awesome. I was even sweating on our walk! After our walk we played inside until bed. Even though we were outside for about 80% of our day, when we were inside Lucas wanted to be out. He's a little obsessed!

How do you like my new haircut?

This was a favorite today.

He partied like a rock star and slept like one too!

This is where you will find Lucas when he can't go outside.

Lucas thought this plastic outlet cover might be a good replacement for his "boppy" (Paci). He only gets his Boppy when he is in bed. He was desperate, I guess.

Happy Birthday, Auntie Steph!!

March 16th is Auntie Steph's Birthday. Mommy met her when she was only 11 years old. Auntie Steph is so much fun and she is the Mommy of my friend Will. (Look how little we are in the first picture.) Happy Birthday!!!!

Art School

We took a day trip down to Peru to visit Grandma and Papa Jim. I wasn't good about taking pics, but did get a couple of Papa Jim and Lucas drawing with sidewalk chalk. We had a great day and great weather. Have I mentioned how much I love Spring?

Swingin' & Slidin'

We drove down to one of the local elementary schools Saturday night when Daddy got home from work. Lucas had so much fun. He LOVED swinging with Daddy and sliding down the slides. When I sent Lucas down feet first on the slides, his shoes kept getting caught and stopping him. I decided to try and send him down head first and it was a much smoother ride. He LOVED it!

"Cheese!"
I don't know about this....
Woohooo!!!!!
Lucas went down the slide at least a dozen times. So fun!

Happy Birthday, Grandma & a trip to the zoo

Happy Birthday, Grandma! We had a very busy day and it is only 2:45pm! Papa took Lucas, Grandma and I out for lunch to celebrate Grandmas birthday. After lunch Grandma, Lucas and I went to the zoo. It was/is a gorgeous day. Lots of sunshine! We love spring!! (If you are wondering where Daddy is, he had to work. He is off Sunday and Monday so I am sure we can get out and enjoy the weather with him, as well.)

"Here fishy, fishy!"

I love my wagon, but at the zoo I wanted to walk, when I wasn't having a snack.

Just being me!

I played at the park, too!

You should see the other guy!

I thought Lucas was finally over the "clumsy" toddler stage. He hasn't had any major bumps or bruises in a long time. Earlier today I was unloading the dishwasher. Lucas was playing in the living room. I couldn't see him, but I could hear him and I continually checked on him as I unloaded. All of a sudden I heard him start crying. I didn't hear a thud or anything and when I went to get him he was just sitting on the floor. He immediately stopped crying when I picked him up so I figured he couldn't of been hurt too bad. It wasn't until later in the day that I noticed this huge bump/bruise on his forehead. The picture doesn't do it justice. It is really purple and raised. Poor guy! He looks like he went ten rounds!

Attempting to put ice on his "bump," he was a little off...
getting closer...

These shoes were made for walkin'

Here is Lucas sporting Grandmas slippers. Stay classy, Lucas!

Happy Birthday, Papa!

Happy Birthday, Papa! Today is my Dads birthday. The picture below is one of my favorites. This is the moment Papa fell in love with his grandson. My Dad refused to believe Lucas was a boy when I was pregnant. He had his mind set on a girl. The moment he saw Lucas, all those thoughts flew out of his head. He adores Lucas like no other. When Lucas was just itty bitty, my Dad use to carry around 4x6 pictures of him in his coat pocket. He said the smaller ones were too hard to see. He's just a "little" proud of his boy.

Lucas, the Dog Whisperer

Here's Lookin' at you, kid!

Lucas found the display window on my camera today. I let him watch a few videos of himself, then tried to take more. Here he is trying to look at himself while I was recording him. Doesn't really make for good cinematography, but it made me laugh.

18 Month Stats & Such

Apparently we need to resume our hunt for a toddler size chair since Lucas has resorted to sitting in one of his book bins to read.
18 Month Stats
Height 33 3/4 inches
Weight 27.2 lbs
We have had a few warm days these past couple weeks. Lucas LOVES to be outside. When we are inside all he wants to do is look out the windows at the "burdies" and getting him to come inside is a feat all its own. I can't wait for consistent spring weather!
Lucas is now talking NONSTOP. He knows a ton of words and will repeat almost anything you ask him to. He absolutely loves animals and making animal noises. He also loves music and dancing. We go to a Kindermusik class once a week and he still isn't interested in TV unless it includes music (characters singing/dancing). Its cute to watch him dance along. He is also a huge fan of coloring. He is currently getting four more teeth which will bring the grand total to 16!
