Lucas-isms

* I was trying on a dress today and Lucas responded with "Oh, cool Mommy. You look pretty!" Yeah, he's a keeper!
* Lucas always asks me if he can "pet Jackson." I tell him yes and he literally pets him like a dog.
* Lucas' response to seeing wrapped birthday presents, "Oooo, nice presents, Mommy."
* When Lucas was potty training I would tell him that it makes me happy when he goes to the bathroom on the potty. Now he tells Brian and I "Good job! That makes Lucas happy, Daddy/Mommy happy and Jackson happy." When Brian and I go to the bathroom.

I love the little tootsies!!

Jackson

I briefly went into the other room and when I came back I found this toy tucked under Jackson's arm. He has a sweet big brother. :)

Full body shot. He's getting bigger!

It's that time of year, again

For most people summer is wedding season. For us, it's birthday season. Almost all of Lucas' friends will be turning 3 during the summer months. Good thing we like to party!!
We headed to Miss Taylor's zoo party on Sunday. Lucas had a blast decorating animal shaped cookies, drinking green jungle juice and petting a ferret, bunny and snake.
On Monday we headed to Austin's party at the Chocolate Cafe. Lucas enjoyed playing in the play structure, painting a lion magnet, eating cupcakes and ice cream and playing in the cocoa beans. I didn't get a picture of Lucas with the birthday boy but here is another one with Taylor.

Why so serious?

This is one of the many faces of Jackson. This is his serious face. Kinda cracks me up.

Bro's

I adore these boys

Jackson just stares at Lucas, especially when he plays with him on his mat.

Visitors

A couple of weeks ago James and Liz came for a short visit and Mimi and Papa came over for a visit after they returned from their trip to Florida.

Newborn Photos

Sorry for the lack of updates. I will try to update in the next couple of days. Until then enjoy these pictures of Jackson taken by my friend Kate. These were taken when he was a week old. Can you believe he is already 3 weeks? It's going too fast!

First Bath

Jackson hated his sponge baths, but seemed to enjoy his first real bath. He spent most the bath with his eyes closed. Not sure if he was sleeping or what. After the flash went off he was wide awake.

Little Peanut!

Jackson is such a little peanut and I love it! Not many people enjoy the newborn stage, but I do. I love how tiny he is and all the newborn cuddles. He is so sweet and rarely cries. He is a great sleeper and just so precious. He is fitting right into our daily routine. Lucas is stillCheck Spelling doing great. I have the best boys ever.

He loves this Soothie paci from the hospital. He holds onto it by sticking his thumb in the hole.

#1 Big Brother

Wore out from a day full of sleeping, eating and pooping. :)

Cousins

The same week Jackson was born Brian's brother and SIL found out they passed court and are officially parents to Caleb a baby boy from Ethiopia. We can't wait to take a picture that includes Caleb.
Here is the most recent set of Faust cousins:

Fourth of July

We didn't see the fireworks this year. Lucas had been hearing them a few nights before when he was trying to go to sleep and they made him very nervous. I told him that fireworks made a loud noise, but they also made pretty sparkles in the sky. He then said he wanted to see them. If Jackson wasn't so itty bitty we probably would have gone to watch. We made a trip to Ritters for ice cream instead and that was good enough for Lucas.

Let's back it up a bit!

I went into labor early Monday morning. We had a busy Saturday and Sunday before that. Lucas went bowling for the first time and LOVED it. He had so much fun and he was so cute cheering for Daddy, Mimi and Papa when they took their turns. His big sayings of the evening were 'big strike!' and 'Ahhh, nuts!' He's pretty funny. The next day we went to Brian's family reunion. We were a little nervous about traveling and hour and a half away because I had been having a lot of pelvic pressure the night before. Luckily, Jackson waited until bedtime to let us know he was on his way.

Playing with his cousin Caroline. Yes, his head is drenched with sweat. It was HOT & HUMID that day.

Jackson Alexsander Faust

These pictures are a little out of order, but do to lack of time I am not going to fix them. Jackson is doing really well and Lucas is an awesome big brother. We are truly blessed! Jackson had a doctors appointment on Friday. He is still slightly jaundice, but that should have reached it's peak a day ago. He looks less yellow everyday. He is slowly increasing his feedings. He was 6lbs 10oz at birth and 6lbs 40z when we left the hospital on Weds. Friday he still weighed 6lbs 40z. We will do a weight check on him next week to ensure that he is gaining. He is a really good baby. Only fusses when he gets his diaper or clothes changed and easily settles down when I am done. We are getting a pretty good amount of sleep. Lucas is still maintaining his sleep/nap schedule as before and I wake Jackson every 3 hours through the night to eat then he goes back to sleep when he is done.

It's hard work being the Big Brother!
