This is a long video, but I am sure some of our family & friends who don't get to see Lucas all that often will enjoy it. It was hard to film all that was going on, so I will tell you briefly that the "scratching" sound you hear in the background is Pacey running around like a mad dog on the hardwood floors. Every now and then Pacey gets this "burst" of energy and runs around like crazy. Lucas finds this extremely entertaining and since we have never filmed it and Brian wasn't home to witness it, I got the camera out. On a side note, Pacey is passed out on the floor next to me right now. That was a lot of runnin' for an almost 9 year old! Also, yes Miss Lilly Bean, Lucas is a "naked nudie." We were in the process of getting pj's on. Enjoy....

Day Tripper

Today, I took Lucas down to Peru, to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Faust. It was a beautiful afternoon, so we took Lucas outside for some fresh air and a "photo shoot."

Faust Look-alike Meter

My friend Alicia had one of these look-alike meters posted on her blog the other day. I thought I would give it a try. So many people say Lucas looks just like me, so many say he looks just like Brian. Well, the results are in, see for yourself!

Just a little Lucas tidbit

Lucas has his one year well baby appointment, tomorrow. He will be getting his routine immunizations, poor baby. He started taking his first steps on Saturday! He isn't super consistent yet, but when he decides to walk he can usually do about 4 steps. I will update with stats, pictures and videos tomorrow or the next day. Are you on the edge of your seat, yet????

"You say Good Buy, I say Hello"

I hope everyone knows that Target commercial, otherwise, I am lame...Anyway, we wanted to let everyone know that Brian accepted a new position today. He will be taking over at Target Optical. Apparently, unlike Bloomington, there is a huge need for Optometrists in our area. Brian has had at least 5 offers to either take over a practice or become a permanent "fill in." Brian has decided to leave Walmart because of the low patient flow, which is to be expected in a new store. Unfortunately, it was not picking up like we had hoped it would. This Target is a Super Target, is established and continually growing. The store is about 3-4 years old and in a great location. We are positive this will be a great move. Brian has to give Walmart 60 more days, according to his contract, but will begin working for Target in 30. I am super excited to get our Target discount! Walmart did not offer Brian a discount..."cheap-o's!" I should not speak ill of Walmart, they do have pretty good prices on a lot of things we buy on a regular basis (diapers & wipes, especially!) So, that is the big news over here. Now, if only we could sell our house in Bloomington and move out of Mom & Dad's basement!

People, let me tell you about my best friend...

Lucas absolutely adores Pacey. They are great playmates and today they have been especially cute. Lucas will get one of Pacey's squeaky toys and hold it out for Pacey to come grab. Then he will chase Pacey around until he can get it back and do the whole thing over. It is so fun to watch and Lucas just squeals in delight every time Pacey grabs the toy out of his hand. This morning when they were playing, Pacey "lost" his duck under one of Lucas' toys. He couldn't get to it so sat down in front of it and started barking. Lucas was across the room and noticed his distress. So, he crawled over to his toy, moved it out of the way and handed Pacey his toy! So, sweet! Just now, we finished lunch and I lifted Lucas out of his highchair and gave him a cookie. He immediately held his hand out to give the cookie to Pacey. I told him "no" and he put the cookie in his mouth, only to take it back out and give it to Pacey. Lucas then went over to his highchair, pulled himself up and began handing Pacey the food that he had dropped into his seat during his lunch. I wish I had a video camera to document all this! Pacey is so good natured, we are blessed that he gets along so well with Lucas.

New Wheels!

Lucas' new wagon finally arrived on Saturday. Unfortunately, it was raining all weekend and we had to test drive it in the living/dining room(s). He absolutely loves it! He cries when we take him out of it and grins ear to ear when he is in it.
The video is a little dark, but it is Lucas playing ball with his Great Grandma. He wanted to stay in the wagon and play.
(A bit of randomness, Lucas is wearing a bib because his drooling is out of control! Tooth number 7, made it's appearance this weekend! Now there are 3 on the bottom and 4 on top!)

In my pj's, going for a test drive.

I think I'll take it!! Yea, for my new wagon!

My new trick!

Two days ago, Lucas learned he could climb! Here he is climbing up on the couch. He also learned he can climb in & out of his toy box, as well as on top of his toy box when the lid is on. This brings baby proofing to a whole new level!!

Trip to the Zoo

Brian took the day off today so we could celebrate Lucas' Birthday as a family. We had a great day at the Fort Wayne Zoo. This was Lucas' first zoo trip where he actually paid attention to what was going on. He really liked to look at the animals. He has started to say the word "kitty." The second animal he saw was a bobcat, or in his words a "kitty!"

Pointing to the "kitty."

Ringing the bells

Playing with the skeleton

Watching the Sea Lions

Petting the BIG Horse

Pretending he is a wombat in the wombat tunnel

Awww, look at the little "joey!"

PARTY!!

Sunday, was awesome! We had a great turn out for Lucas' party. A ton of family and friends were there. We would like to send a special "thank you!" out to the many people who drove in from out of town and even a few from out of state! We loved having you and appreciate you making the long journey! We definitely missed a lot of family and friends who could not make it. We hope to see you all soon!
It was a beautiful day. There was good food and better company! Thanks to everyone who came out to help us celebrate!

Thank you, for the presents!!

Here is a little clip of Lucas opening some of his presents from Aunt Janice and Uncle Jeremy. I think he is a natural! He has also opened gifts from Uncle Jim, Aunt Reagan, Riley & Caroline, and the Sutherlin Family. What a lucky boy!! We are very thankful for the gifts, and will miss those mentioned at the party, tomorrow. We hope to see you all very soon!

Thirsty, Baby!

For about a month now, I have been giving Lucas a "shower," instead of a bath. One of the tubs here at my parents house has a handheld shower head and giving Lucas a shower is easier on my back and a lot faster then a regular bath. Since I have been sick the past four days Brian gave Lucas his shower. As I am on the couch listening to the boys "talk" and "play" I hear Brian start to laugh hysterically. He noticed Lucas was trying to drink out of the shower head! I grabbed the camera as fast as I could so Brian could try to film it. By this time, he had been doing this for about 5 minutes and it was losing its appeal. Here is what we were able to catch...
