It's been a long week indoors. Lucas was sick all week with croup. He has been sick before, but it rarely keeps him down. Usually he can still run around happy as a clam with a 102 fever. This week has been filled with LOTS of sleeping and downtime. I was getting sick of watching the same DVR'ed episodes of Caillou and the Toy Story DVD. I turned off the TV and we did some arts and crafts. Lucas recently discovered glue. Oh, boy! He loves it. We glued macaroni and cut up pieces of paper. He actually did a really good job of keeping the glue on the paper. I love the Elmers washable, no run glue. He also painted...A LOT!

Happy 30th Birthday, Brian!
Brian turned 30 on February, 23rd. On Friday the 19th Brian's brother Jim drove in from Iowa and surprised Brian at Hacienda. Brian thought that was his birthday present. That wasn't all. On Saturday Brian arrived home from work to find two of his good friends at our house. I instructed him to go pack an overnight bag because he was headed to the Blue Chip Casino for a guys night out. I am so glad I was able to pull off this surprise, especially since we ended up taking Lucas to the ER on Brian's actual birthday. Happy Birthday, Brian! I love you and I hope it was great!!
The guys, minus Joe who met them at the casino.
Jim, Jim, Brian and James.

Another snow day
I titled this post 'Another snow day.' In actuality almost everyday this year has been a snow day. We have only had one brief thaw so far this year. There is always snow on the ground. Brian was out shoveling the other day so I bundled Lucas up and sent him outside with Daddy. He would play outside all day if I let him.
Stuff in other stuff
I am always finding random toys put in other toys. I don't know if this is another hoarding behavior or what. Most likely its a 2 1/2 year old at play.
Play coins inside an egg
Trios in a stacking cup inside a bowl
More Trios inside Lucas' bicycle seat
Milk and Cereal
Lucas has recently discovered cereal and milk. He hasn't really mastered eating it this way yet.
You can see the milk down the front of his jammies.

Memaw and Papa came to visit
Memaw and Papa came up to visit today. They came up to help celebrate Daddy's 30th birthday coming up next week. Memaw and I played toys while Papa fixed the water and ice maker in the refrigerator. When Daddy came home from work we went out to eat at Hacienda. We didn't get any pictures with Daddy, but here are a couple with Memaw and Papa.

Valentine's Day Party
Today Lucas experienced his first Valentine's Day party. We missed out last year because someone was in the midst of a bowel obstruction. (I won't mention any names.) We joined our friends for some food, crafts, cupcake decorating and of course a valentine exchange. Lucas had a great time. I didn't get many pictures, but some other friends did. I will add those as they are emailed to me.

Dinosaurs continued...
Tonight, like most nights we played dinosaurs. Lucas generally turns into a little booger when I want to take pictures, but tonight he insisted I take pictures with him and his dinosaurs. I narrowed them down to just a few.
Did you know there was Charmin in the Jurassic time period?
Please pretend you don't see the mess behind Lucas.
Lunch at Lunkers
Today our playgroup went to Lunkers. Lunkers is an outdoorsman store, but it has a ton of freshwater and saltwater aquariums, a live alligator, lizards, turtles and various stuffed critters. We went on a tour and enjoyed lunch together.
Petting the black bear
Posing with the stuffed alligator
some of the kids looking at the lizards and hermit crabs.
How to Decorate a Cookie By: Lucas
Yesterday we went to Siena and Nico's birthday party. Each child got to decorate an initial cookie. Here is a step by step tutorial.
1. Pay no attention to your cookie while squeezing the icing out of the
piping bag.

Dinosaurs
This post is for Memaw & Papa. We tried to get Lucas to say his dinosaur names over the phone last night, but it was a little hard to hear him. I am not a skilled cameraman so I apologize for the video. Hopefully you can make out what he is saying. It is incredibly difficult to record Lucas because all he wants to do is watch the video so there are no "take 2's." Lucas is totally in love with all things dinosaur and we are working on dinosaur names. Unfortunately, Mommy needs to watch a few more episodes of Dinosaur Train because she doesn't know the names of most of them. I'll try to get a better video, but until then this will have to do.
