Unlike most babies his age, Lucas just loves the grass. He refuses to stay on his blanket when we our outside. Instead, he would rather touch the grass, pick the grass or eat/attempt to eat the grass. What a little stinker!

Lucas just loves waffles. He is very much into eating "big" people food and always has to try what is on your plate. He has been getting a waffle for his morning snack all week. By the way, I am not sure why he doesn't have a shirt on in these pictures. Either I was out of clean bibs or he had soaked his shirt with drool. Both our pretty common these days.
We love Bloomington and hated to say "good-bye!" For those of you who don't know, Brian and I both graduated from IU. We met in Bloomington, bought our first house in Bloomington and had our first baby in Bloomington. It is a great town that will always hold a special place in our hearts. We will miss Bloomington and all the special people we met there! On a side note, our house is on the market! Leave me a comment if you know anyone who might be interested!
Well, we're back online now with real internet... I don't consider dial-up genuine internet because I shouldn't have time to go make a sandwich and come back before a webpage loads... Anyways, you all can expect the posts to start from Rach really soon... We have a lot of pictures of the little guy and from our move, so there's a lot to share...
After a very long day of packing & cleaning we made it to my parents house in Mishawaka. We are glad to be here and excited for this next journey. Brian passed his last round of boards and left Sunday for a Walmart conference. Our townhouse in Bloomington is on the market. We pray it sells quick so we can buy a new house to call home. As of right now my parents only have dial up and until we get better internet I won't be posting much. It takes so long to load pics and half the time I get kicked off before they are fully loaded. We will catch everybody up shortly!
As I wrote last week, Lucas' top teeth cut through. Well, this afternoon another top tooth broke through with a 4th top tooth on its way! Lucas got his first bottom teeth at 4 months within a week of each other. He hasn't had any for 5 months. I guess when it rains it pours. Lucas has been more moody, fussy and clingy this week. This has made it difficult to pack, but he has been taking 2-2 1/2 hour naps instead of his normal 45 minute naps. Keep our little guy in your prayers as he struggles through these new teeth!
This weekend we enjoyed a trip to Peru to visit Mom and Dad Faust. Little did we know that the great flood of '08 was hitting central Indiana. There was so much water we had to stay an extra night in Peru b/c portions of 37 were closed. All of our alternate routes were also underwater! While in Peru we enjoyed dinner out with several of Lucas' great Aunts, cousins and great Grandma. It is always nice to get together with family.
Lucas also cut his fourth tooth over the weekend. Now both top teeth are making their way in. I can't wait to see that big toothy grin once they are totally in!

This afternoon Lucas and I went to TGI Fridays for a goodbye lunch with one of my old coworkers. On the 15 minute drive to the restaurant Lucas had a major league meltdown. He screamed and cried the entire way. He was absolutely hysterical. This is way out of character for him. The last time he did this we were in FL and he was super tired and hungry. I knew he was neither of those b/c I had just fed him after he woke up from his nap. When I got him out of his carseat he settled down. Later in the afternoon, when he was swimming I saw that he had cut his third tooth. This is his first top tooth. I can only imagine he was in some pain and thus had the meltdown. Poor guy, I can't believe I didn't think to check his gums! He was fine the rest of the day.
I bought Lucas a baby pool yesterday at Walmart (I went back after the power came back on). It was a steal at $5! He had a blast in it today. We did have to change the water shortly after he started swimming. I'm sure you can imagine why...
Lucas' friend Dane gave him some bathtub rubber duckies for Christmas last year. He loves to play with them both in the bath and out. Recently, probably b/c of the teething he has enjoyed chewing on the heads.
Although we should be packing for the move, Lucas and I have been enjoying our time together playing and having fun. I am so happy to be a stay at home mom. What a blessing!

Okay, first came my addiction with Facebook, now an addiction to blogging! I have to say, I love it. I am sure it bores some to read all of our posts, but I am having a blasty blast! I wonder if they have bloggers aynonomous meetings? Hey, I guess there are worse things to be addicted to. I do try to blog only when Lucas is napping or in bed for the night. I promise not to neglect him! In a nutshell I love blogging. I'm sure I will see you back here tonight!
Just a simple trip to Walmart to pick up milk and a prescription turned into a royal pain in the rear! This morning we awoke to some pretty noisy storms, but they parted quickly and the sun was shining most of the day. About 3:45 I decided to venture out to Walmart with Lucas in tow. As I was leaving the neighborhood I noticed some dark clouds were moving in. I called Brian and had him check the weather radar for me. He said a cell was approaching but shouldn't be to Bloomington for awhile. I figured as long as I could get into the store before the rain came, we could wait out the storm as we shopped. About 5 minutes into our shopping I heard the rain come pouring down on the roof of the store. I continued my shopping at a slower pace knowing we wouldn't be leaving anytime soon. About 5 minutes later the lights flickered twice then they were out. The fun starts now! I hear someone come over the intercom announcing a muffled bunch of jargon so I proceed with my browsing in the dark. A few minutes later the same voice came over and I heard her ask all shoppers to proceed to the dressing rooms in the middle of the store. At this point I am a little nervous, I have never been a fan of thunderstorms! I am usually the girl hanging out in the basement closet until the storm passes. So Lucas and I reach the dressing rooms and I am not feeling very secure as I see the dressing rooms are just stalls with no ceilings! In my personal opinion I think the freezer or the restrooms would be more safe in the event of a tornado. But, I was just following the rules. They did not allow anyone to leave the store or the fitting room area for about 40 minutes!!! Lucas was a trooper for about 30 minutes, but then he started to get tired and it was getting warm. After the 40 minutes or so we were given the all clear and people could leave the store if they wanted. At this point the electricity was still out so we were forced to abandon our cart and leave empty handed! The storm left a few roads flooded, several traffic lights out and I imagine some limbs/trees down. What is usually a 7 minute drive home turned into a 45 minute drive! Not only were we dealing with the aftermath of the storm, it was also rush hour!!! As much of an inconvenience as it was, I have to count my blessings that we were all safe and sound. I know things could have been a lot worse.
Today was a pretty regular, uneventful day. This evening was another story! Lucas has this jumparoo that he loves, but is unfortunately just about to out grow. Another thing he is about to out grow are his size 3 diapers. After dinner we put Lucas in his jumper so we could clean up and keep him confined. He was jumping a long and having a blast! After about 10 minutes I happened to look at him and saw a large dark spot on his pant leg. I was really hoping it was just a shadow, but after a closer look I knew what it was...yep, poop! So I pull him out of the jumper and knew no amount of baby wipes were going to get him clean. I yelled for Brian and we headed straight to the bathtub. Lucas successfully pooped everywhere except for in his diaper! I pulled his pants off and they went straight to the trash. I had to cut his onsie off of him which followed the pants into the trash. By the time all was said and done all three of us were covered in poo! I spared you any photos (not that I had taken any), except for the ones after his bath. Ahhh, the joys of parenthood!
Today Lucas had his 9 month well baby visit. He weighs 21lbs 1.5oz. He is 29 inches long. He is doing great and met all his milestones. Recently, we have been concerned about Lucas developing allergies. About a month ago, Lucas and I began sneezing within seconds of each other. The next two weeks I was miserable with allergies that eventually turned into a sinus infection. Lucas never got sick but seemed a little congested and had a minor cough every morning. We discussed putting him on allergy meds today and got a prescription for Zyrtec. We are going to try it to see if it improves things. We would like to get his allergies under control to avoid more long term effects like asthma. All three colds/infections Lucas has developed has lead straight to wheezing and a week of inhaler use along with 2 days of prednisone. So, wish us luck that the Zyrtec is all he will need!
Recently, Lucas has been giving us this huge grin every time we look at him and smile. When he does it he also lets out this cute little giggle. I don't think he could smile any bigger! It makes his cheeks look so big! It always puts me in a good mood to see him smile like this! Oh, and he still only has two bottom teeth.
