I haven't posted a video of Lucas recently. Here he is for all you long distance friends and family. You can tell he is a little miffed at me because I paused Elmo's World in order to film him. Life is rough!
We finally entered the blog arena to keep our loved ones up to date with news and pictures of our family...
I haven't posted a video of Lucas recently. Here he is for all you long distance friends and family. You can tell he is a little miffed at me because I paused Elmo's World in order to film him. Life is rough!
This summer 8 of Lucas' friends are turning two. Only one of those friends is a girl! We are very lucky that Lucas has so many little buddies his age. Lucas is the youngest, with a September birthday. Everyone else is late June through August. We spent Sunday afternoon celebrating Dylan's 2nd Birthday.
Alexis and Lucas
It has been so HOT here. Today we went swimming with Papa and Lucas did a great job. I'm so glad he loves the water.
We made it 21 months before Lucas' first trip to the ER. Poor kid. While at a friends house today Lucas began wandering toward the driveway and an extension cord that was on the ground. As I was walking toward him to stop him he started to run and did a face plant right onto the concrete. He didn't even get his hands down in time. He had an INSTANT hematoma the size of a half dollar. I have never seen anything like it. Fortunately, it only scratched the surface of his skin so he wasn't bleeding "out" too. We tried to put ice on it, but that just seemed to make him more upset. Even with a popsicle and Elmo on TV he wouldn't let us touch it. My friend is a physicians assistant so that was lucky! I called the pediatrician and they said to take Lucas to the ER in case a CT needed to be done. I drove him there and Brian met me. We sat and waited for over an hour and a half, but it was worth the wait because we ended up seeing the husband of one of my other friends. It was nice to have him because he has kids Lucas' age and I knew I could trust what he was telling us. Lucas checked out just fine. No concussion or anything. He didn't even need the CT done. We were reading books and practicing all our animal names and sounds while waiting on the doctor. Fortunately it looks like he didn't knock anything loose! He napped fine, woke up fine and has been acting normal all day. He may not have actually needed the ER, but I needed it for peace of mind! Better to be safe than sorry, especially when its my baby! I tried to get some pictures, but they really don't do it justice. It looks so much better now then it did earlier today.
Lucas loves to watch Sesame Street, more specifically Elmo's World. I don't know what it is about Elmo, but Lucas is obsessed!!! No other TV show compares to Sesame St. He constantly asks for Elmo and if we didn't have a DVR I don't think we would survive! It is the ONLY thing he will watch. I guess it could be worse. Here is how he looks when he watches Sesame Street.
We spent Father's Day at Aunt Sue and Uncle John's lake cottage. Lucas had so much fun. It was a perfect lake day. Daddy caught a baby turtle, Mimi and Papa took him on a paddle boat ride and he slept through his first speedboat ride. We love the lake!
