Happy 1st Birthday, Dane!

We had a great time at Dane's birthday party. Lucas played with lots of new toys and his friends Will and Dane. Lucas also enjoyed a sing along music session with a Wiggleworms teacher. He was completely wiped out by the end of the day. I think he really enjoyed the change of scenery.

Playing with Dane

The boys: Lucas, Will & Dane lined up in order from
youngest to oldest. They did that themselves!

Baby jail! Lucas and Will played here for a good 15 minutes.

You can't see her, but Dane's Grammy was entertaining

Ball pit fun!

Go Diego!!

Lucas is usually not interested in TV, except for the occasional Sesame Street or Barney episode. The other day Diego was on before his morning nap and it actually caught his attention. Maybe, because they were the same size!!!

So much to say...

Just a reminder to those who don't check our blog that often. We have posted so much already this month that many of the posts have been booted onto a previous page. There is a lot to see and we don't want you to miss out! Just click on the post title on the side to see that entry or at the bottom where it says "older posts."

Baby Rambo!

Talk about embarrassing baby photos! I just have too much fun with this kid. Tonight I was folding laundry and found that one of Pacey's bandannas had been put in the laundry and washed and dried. Lucas was being a little stinker because he was so pooped after being at the pool all afternoon. So, I grabbed him and tied the bandanna around his head. He actually tolerated it really well. He was getting a little tired of the photo shoot in the last two pics. He is just too funny!

At the Pool

Since I was feeling better today, Mom, Dad, Brian, Lucas and I all packed up and headed to the pool at the Elks Lodge. It was the first time we had been there all summer. It really hasn't been that warm here yet. Today was a perfect day to hit the pool. Lucas had an awesome time in the baby pool. He learned to crawl up the steps on the edge of the pool and spent a lot of time watching the other kids and crawling around in the pool. I am so happy he is turning out to be such a little water bug!
He also got to swim in the big pool. We bought an awesome baby float when we were in Florida that he never got to use. He had a blast in it! He really thought he was hot stuff!

I'm Stoned!!!

It was a very interesting 4th of July. For the past three days I have been experiencing intense flank pain and other urinary symptoms. Thinking at first I may have a UTI I began an antibiotic. After two full days of the antibiotic, I was feeling worse. Unfortunately, what I was feeling was a very familiar pain. I had a very strong suspicion I was experiencing my second kidney stone in 4 years. Being that it was the fourth of July, I headed to an urgent care center with my mom. I waited over two hours to see the doctor. I was really hoping it would be worth the wait. Boy, was I disappointed. The doctor was terrible. My UA came back relatively normal except for a trace amount of blood. She was certain my pain and symptoms were due to a UTI, even though the UA didn't really back that up. She was trying to shuffle me out of the room as quick as possible, but I kept probing her about my flank pain and my past history of stones. She insisted that changing my antibiotic was the next logical step. My favorite part of the visit was the doctors rationale for why it was NOT a kidney stone 1. there was not enough blood present in my urine and the best one...2. I "didn't look like a person with a kidney stone, or a person passing a kidney stone!" Well, excuse me for not screaming in pain and rolling around on the floor like a crazy person. Mental note....next time I suspect a kidney stone, scream in pain and roll around on the floor like a crazy person.
I left the urgent care center less then thrilled with the care I received. As the afternoon progressed into evening I was feeling worse and worse and the pain was getting more intense. Around dinner time I began vomiting and knew there was something more going on then just an infection. My mom and dad took me to the ER while Brian stayed home with Lucas and his friend Jim who was here visiting.
I was promptly admitted into the ER and given pain medication. The ER doctor was great and immediately ordered a CT scan to look for a stone. It took awhile to get the results, as it was the fourth of July and all the crazies were coming into the ER. My nurse did come in at one point with more pain meds and let me know that I did in fact have a 3mm stone in my ureter (the tube leading from your kidney to your bladder.) I KNEW IT!!
So, Friday and Saturday were pretty miserable, but today I am feeling much better. I have not passed the stone yet, but I am pretty sure it is in my bladder because I have a significant reduction in pain.
And yes, I will be sending a strongly worded letter to the head of the urgent care center. I will never return to that place again, nor will I recommend it to anyone!

How is THAT Comfortable????

Okay, I lied... This post WILL, however, be my last before I head to bed... I finally took a bunch of pictures off my phone, so I'm finding stuff I really wanted to share. Just a few nights ago, Rach went in to check on Lucas before we went to bed... She came out and told me I just had to see how she found him... See for yourself...

Then we moved the blanket for a better view...
